When the new Tremec T-56 Magnum XL started hitting the streets, owners of current Tri-Ax shifters began coming to us asking for an upgrade. The result is our new Steeda Tri-Ax shifter for the Tremec Magnum XL transmission for 2005-2019 Mustang.
The Tremec T-56 Magnum XL is a new 6-speed manual transmission designed to replace the 2005-2010 Mustang GT 5-speed transmission with it's remote mounted shifter set up and to also replace the Getrag MT-82 transmission in the 2011-2017 Mustangs. The new T-56 Magnum features a much more robust direct shifter connection eliminating the remote set up on the 2005-2010 models and greatly improving durability over the Getrag MT-82 in the 2011-2017 models.
Our Tri-Ax shifter for this new transmission was designed with the same standards as all our other Tri-Ax shifters. Our shifter directly replaces the Tremec shifter that is supplied with the transmission and features our offset pre-load shift mechanism for "no miss" 2-3 shifts, adjustable positive stops to prevent over extending the shift lever,and a nickel plated pivot shaft that won't rust or stain.
As you would expect from our shifters they are CNC machined from 6061 T-6 aluminum with no welds, castings, or stampings that can break. Our internal design is the same design that has been repeatedly tested to over 1.5 million shifts with no measureable wear of the internal pivot mechanism. All other competitor's internal construction would never endure such a test without significant wear.
